A 26-year-old man is in the hospital after he was stabbed and two others were cut early this morning a motel in Rosedale.

Police are now looking for a suspect, and say they'll have to rely on the victims to find out who did this.

We don't know what led up to stabbing outside room #117 at the El Rich Motel off Pulaski Highway, but Baltimore County police say the actions that followed started with a knock at the door.

"They had some sort of exchange and during that time, the person who knocked on their door pulled out a knife," Officer Jennifer Peach, with the police department, said.

She says the alleged stabber and another man walked down the steps behind the motel early this morning, knocked on the door, and confronted a man inside.

"That fourth person who knocked on the door, at some point pulled out a knife and started stabbing people wildly," Peach said.

The victim inside the motel room was cut. The other man tried stopping the attack, but was also cut.

"If there's video surveillance, certainly, we're going to be checking it," Peach said.

A check that could lead to what then led the suspect to randomly stab a third victim, a 26-year-old man, in his upper body.

"We do know that the person fled from the area. It's still questionable as to whether it was on foot or in a vehicle. So detectives are still out right now following up on some leads," Peach said.

A tough task for police, whose likely only help, can come from the victims.

"There aren't a lot of witnesses around. There's not a lot of movement -- nobody is out and about. So it's difficult for us to find people who are able to come forward and say, 'I saw something, I heard something," Peach said.

Every victim is expected to be ok.
