Baltimore Police say a woman has died from head injuries after a man pushed her to the ground in January. According to a release, officers had been called to the intersection of Eastern Ave and Eaton St for an assault occurring at 9 p.m. on January 12, 2017.

Officers found 58-year-old Kathy Schultz, high intoxicated but showed no signs of injury; she was taken to Bayview Hospital as a precaution. Witnesses told police the victim had been in an argument with an unknown male; she tried to hit him before he pushed her down making her strike her head on the ground.

The victim’s condition declined once she was hospitalized; she lost consciousness and needed a ventilator in order to breath. Doctors discovered she had a cracked skull from hitting her head.

She died from her injuries in March 2017 and an autopsy was ordered.

The Medical Examiner determined the victim died from her injuries sustained on January 12 and ruled her death a homicide.

Police say the male suspect has been identified and is currently in prison for another offense; police are in the process of obtaining an arrest warrant.
