Violent morning in Baltimore: 5 shootings, 4 of them fatal

Baltimore City Homicide Detectives are working overtime after a violent morning in Baltimore that left four people dead and one injured in a string of shootings. 

The violence started late Friday evening, Sept 22. Around 11:15 p.m. officers were patrolling the area of the 4300 block of Reisterstown Road when they heard several gunshots ring out.

Upon responding to the location they found Kevin Bailey, 43, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Medics transported the victim to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

At 2:00 a.m. officers were called to the 500 block of N. Curley Street for a reported shooting.

Upon arrival officers discovered a 48-year-old Earnest Brown, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen.

The victim was transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital where he died from his injuries a short time later.

Around 5:30 a.m. officers responded to the 1900 block of Griffin Avenue for a shooting.

When officers arrived they found Michael Cudnik Jr, 22, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Medics responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

About one hour later at 6:40 a.m. officers responded to a reported shooting at the 2400 block of Ettings Street for a shooting.

Upon arrival officers discovered Jeima Bell, 29, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

The victim was transported to Shock Trauma where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Around 8:00 a.m. officers were called to the 700 block of Newington Avenue for a reported shooting.

When officers arrived to the scene they discovered a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to an area hospital.

He is listed in critical condition.
