BALTIMORE - Two people are dead and four others hurt in weekend shootings, police said.
In both of the deaths, the victims were shot in the head.
A cab driver picking up a fare in South Baltimore was shot in the back of the head Saturday afternoon. The driver was picking up a fare in the 2400 block of Maisel Court when he was shot. He later died at an area hospital.
The passenger was shot in the hip as he fled from the shooter. He was taken to a hospital where he is listed in good condition.
In a separate incident, another man was shot in the head in the 300 block of Park Avenue around 3 a.m. Sunday. When police arrived, they found the man shot in the head and another man shot in the groin. The man shot in the head died at a hospital a short time later. The man shot in the groin is in critical but stable condition, police said.
Additionally, two more men were shot in the city but are expected to survive. Police said early Sunday morning a man walked into a hospital with a gunshot wound to his thigh. Investigation revealed he was shot late Saturday night while walking in the 3400 block of Grantley Road.
Another man was shot in Park Heights around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. The victim told police he was in the 3100 block of Wylie Avenue when an unknown man approached and started shooting. Police said the victim's condition is critical but stable.
