Third man arrested for 1-year-old shooting death

BALTIMORE (WMAR) - Police made a third arrest in connection to the shooting death of  a 1-year-old boy.

The Warrant Apprehension Task Force tracked murder suspect, Rashid Mayo to the campus of Grambling University in Ruxton, Louisiana Saturday morning.

Mayo was wanted for the first degree murder of Carter Scott, 1, on May 24.

Baltimore City Police say the crime scene stretched between the 1200 and 1700 block of Cherry Hill Road in South Baltimore. An additional crime scene was being investigated on Winchester Street in West Baltimore.

According to police, a gunman approached the father's car and opened fire. The father, Rashaw Scott was critically injured in the shooting; the baby died.

Already in police custody are Eddie Tarver and Cornell Harvey.  Tarver faces several charges, including first degree murder. Harvey faces charges of murder and attempted murder as well as other related charges. 

Police do not believe the incident was random.
