Baltimore police officers are looking for thieves who rammed a truck into a convenience store in Brooklyn and stole an ATM.

A boarded up hole is the only thing left after thieves broke in and left with a mess.

"I'm not sure how much money was in it, but they did make away with the ATM," Det. Donny Moses, a PIO with the Baltimore Police Department said.

Baltimore police say the thieves crashed a stolen red pickup truck into the Royal Farms convenience store on Potee Street.

"They found a red pickup truck had smashed through the side of the Royal Farms. Witnesses reported seeing three unknown black males getting out of their vehicle and going into the Royal Farms through the whole that they created with the red pickup truck," Moses said.

In all, the smash grab took a matter of minutes.

The crooks took the ATM, ditched the red truck and left in a getaway SUV -- all before dawn, around 4:30 Monday.

"We're fortunate that no one was in the store at the time of this incident. Nobody was hurt. The manager did arrive a short time later," Moses said.

While no one was in the store, several witnesses gave officers all they could an investigators are relying on surveillance video to piece together the rest of the case.

"We're hoping that somebody who witnessed it can provide a tag or any sort of information that'll point us in the right direction as to who these suspects are," Moses said.

A right direction that can bring these crooked crashers to justice.

"They picked a pretty convenient area, just for that, so you're right there on the south end of Baltimore where you can run into Anne Arundel County or come back into the city," Moses said.

A spokeswoman with Royal Farms says it'll take weeks before they'll be able to fully repair the store.

She isn't sure how much it'll cost.

Investigators are asking anyone who has information about this case to give them a call.
