Two suspects have pleaded guilty to second-degree assault after beating a 55-year-old man at a Ravens game last season.

Scott Smith, 30, and Andrew Nappi, 31, were each sentenced to 18 months probation, a lesser sentence than the State advised.

Police say a verbal altercation happened before the attack, which left Joseph Bauer in critical condition at Shock Trauma.

Bauer was diagnosed with a fractured skull and brain swelling from hitting his head on concrete.

Smith and Nappi were both seen walking away from the victim after the October 2, 2016 game at M&T Bank Stadium.

City state’s attorney Marilyn Mosby issued a statement Friday,

“No verbal altercation should ever escalate to assault…I hope that the perpetrators of this reckless act learn from this incident, and the victim and his family find solace in the fact that the perpetrators were held accountable.”
