BALTIMORE - A man is dead after he was stabbed multiple times on Saturday morning, police said
Baltimore City Police said they were called to the 2000 block of Wheeler Avenue just after 5:00 a.m.
When officers arrived on the scene, they reported seeing a man suffering from stab wounds to his neck and face.
The victim was rushed to the hospital where he later died, according to detectives.
Police have not released the victim's identity because his family has not been made aware of the killing.
The man was killed a block away from Coppin State University where Baltimore's first African-American Police Commissioner, Bishop L. Robinson, was laid to rest on the same morning.
Homicide detectives are asking anyone with information to give them a call as they work to figure out who killed the victim and why.
This latest stabbing marks the 18th homicide within the first 18 days of 2014 in Baltimore.
