Baltimore County Police have identified the soldier who barricaded himself inside National Guard property Monday morning.
Charles J. Muchanic, 43, of Gladstone, Va., is charged with one count of trespassing. He was released from the Baltimore County Detention Center on $7,500 bond.
According to charging documents, Muchanic had been AWOL from the National Guard since last September, and had been told he was not allowed back on the premises.

Around 11 a.m., police responded to a security alarm that was activated in the building that houses the armory at the Maryland National Guard property. Army personnel responded to the alarm, and after seeing Muchanic, they called police.
The person who called police said Muchanic was former Green Beret Special Forces and he had access to the weapons vault.
Police later learned Muchanic didn’t have access to the weapons in the armory, which are stored in a secure vault.
"Our investigation has not shown any malevolent intent on his part," said Elise Armacost, spokeswoman for Baltimore County Police. "He told us he'd fallen on hard times and that he was basically looking for a place to get in out of the weather and to sleep."
