BALTIMORE - Seven people have been murdered this week in Baltimore City.
The latest – the 110th and 111th of 2014 – took place late Thursday. Baltimore City police said the first homicide was reported at 11:09 p.m. when officers responded to a call for a male lying in the alley in the rear of the 5000 block of Queensberry Ave.
The victim was located and found to be suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at 11:20 p.m.
Then at 11:52 p.m., officers responded to the 5300 block of Goodnow Road for a report of a man that was shot. The victim was located in the parking lot of 5316 Goodnow Road. He was transported to an area hospital and pronounced dead at 12:29 a.m. Friday.
The latest homicides come during one of the more violent weeks in the city in recent months.
Among those killed this week was:
- A 32-year-old man shot multiple times Tuesday at the intersection of Bentalou Street and Windsor Avenue in West Baltimore
- Darnell Mitchell, 28, was shot and killed Wednesday as he and others attempted to film him getting shot while wearing a ballistic vest.
- Mia Long, 26, a transgender woman found in an alleyway behind Piedmont Avenue early Wednesday morning.
