BALTIMORE (WMAR) - A Baltimore City Police officer shot a suspect in Southwest Baltimore Saturday evening.
According to a spokesperson for the department, officers originally responded to a shooting in the 1100 block of Cross Street. Once officer arrived on the scene, they were quickly able to obtain a suspect description.
Officers spotted a man that matched the description just blocks away in the 300 block of South Poppleton Street. Police say he was armed with a gun.
Police attempted making an arrest which resulted in an officer shooting the suspect multiple times.
The police officer involved in the shooting has not been identified. Although, police tell ABC2 News that the officer involved played a big roll in working a double shooting Friday night that left a baby dead.
It is unknown if the suspect pointed the gun or fired at police first.
No officers are reported injured in this incident.
