A rash of armed robberies has Federal Hill residents worried and staying vigilant while walking through their neighborhood.

"It is alarming and I would never walk alone without my dog or a friend or take Uber you know it's the city so you take precautions generally," Shelley Ryan said.

Police say the 15-year-old is responsible for four armed robberies last week in the area.

"Me and my roommates try to go together.  We go to the gym late at night so we always try to stay together.  My roommate had a problem a few months ago but other than that, it's definitely a little scary to walk around late at night," said Federal Hill resident, Matthew Murphy.

Investigators say the teen is responsible for four hold-ups that happened between last Saturday and Thursday. Two happened on Ostend street--then just days later on May 24, the suspect reportedly held up someone along Bolton Street and then again on May 25 this time on Battery Avenue.

"It's a little concerning i just hope that everyone is just mindful and they watch out for these threats," said Brian Sapolski.

Colleen Carroll also lives in Federal Hill.

"It definitely makes me skeptical about walking by myself places it's something that you want to hear about the neighborhood that you live in and expect to be safe in," she said.

"It's not the homeless people it's that people see this as a place of opportunity because it is more of a well to do area," Ryan said.

Detectives are charging him as a juvenile and the teen may be responsible for other robberies in the area.

Police are also working to charge his accomplices.
