BALTIMORE - Police are investigating two separate car crashes on Saturday that both appear to be the result of the driver being shot.
The most recent crash happened in Southwest Baltimore Saturday night. Around 8:30 p.m. police were called to a car accident in the 900 block of Cooks Lane. When officers arrived they found a car that had hit a telephone pole. An 18-year-old man was taken to the hospital where it was determined his head injury was caused by a gunshot wound. There is no word on the victim's condition.
The first crash involved an overturned car in Mt. Vernon early Saturday morning. Officers responding to the accident in the 100 block of E. Madison Street found a 28-year-old man, later identified as Ricky Mellerson, inside the car. He had been shot multiple times and died at the hospital.
