Baltimore police arrested a man who may have set a fire in a row home, injuring three people.
The suspect was questioned by investigators Monday night after a lengthy foot chase, police spokesman Det. Jeremy Silbert said.
Northwestern district officers and firefighters were dispatched to the 2800 block of Ridgewood Avenue in response to a house fire.
Silbert said officers were already in the area when the call went out.
A community member told police that a man had run out of the back door of the smoking home. Three people were inside as firefighters tended to the blaze.
Meanwhile, officers chased the suspect for about a mile.
"This suspect ran several blocks and was later apprehended on Oakley Avenue," Silbert said.
The three individuals in the home were transported to area hospitals for evaluation.
The suspect may face arson charges if investigators discover that the fire was set intentionally.
