An attempted rape in southeast Baltimore Saturday night is likely linked to a similar incident that happened in February, Baltimore Police said.

Detectives said the suspect is considered armed and dangerous.

On Saturday around 9:10 p.m., a woman walking in the 200 block of Central Avenue asked a man for public transit information. Afterwards, the man approached the woman, grabbed her by the neck and forced her into a nearby ally. The man attempted to rape her, but she was able to escape and run to a nearby business.

In February, a woman was sexually assaulted in the 200 block of South Eden Street.  Detectives believe the suspect followed the woman from the subway station at the intersection of East Baltimore and President streets.

The woman walked from the subway to the 200 block of South Eden Street, and then the suspect grabbed her and attempted to rape her. She was also able to escape.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Baltimore Police Department’s Sex Offense Unit at 410-396-2076.  Those who wish to remain anonymous should call the Metro Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-866-7-LOCKUP.
