Several of the Baltimore Police Officers indicted in a federal racketeering case earlier this month are in negotiations for plea deals.
A court filing posted Tuesday shows the government is asking for an additional 60 days before moving forward in the case, in part, to allow more time for plea negotiations.
All of the officers had their first appearances in federal court earlier this month, all of them pleaded not guilty to robbery, extortion and overtime fraud charges.
Detectives Momodu Gondo, Evodio Hendrix, Daniel Hersl, Jemell Rayam, Marcus Taylor, Maurice Ward and Sgt. Wayne Jenkins all remain detained pending their trials.
According to the court filing, plea negotiations began on March 5, four days after all seven of the officers were arrested.
