Man shot while parking car in Baltimore, drives away before seeking help

Baltimore Police said a 47-year-old man was shot in the chest after getting into a "confrontation" while trying to park his car. 

Police responded to the area of Mt . Pleasant avenue at S. Conkling Street for a discharging around midnight Tuesday. 

After canvassing the area, officers located the victim with a gunshot wound to his chest in the 3700 block of Claremont Street. He was conscious and breathing, but transferred to an area hospital and is in serious condition. 

Police said that preliminary investigation reveled the victim was trying to park his car in the 200 block of S. Conkling Street when he got into a confrontation with two unknown suspects.

One of the suspects fired at least one round from a handgun at the vehicle, striking the victim in the chest.

The victim was able to drive away before seeking help on Claremont Street.
