A man was shot and killed Wednesday night while pumping gas in the 5100 block of York Road, Baltimore Police said.

According to police the 21-year-old man was approached by an unidentified suspect who fired several shots at him. The victim also had a gun and fired back, but the suspect ran off.

The victim was taken to an area hospital, where he died.

Police said the victim was involved in a drug deal immediately before he was shot.

"As soon as the guy fell down, I called the cops," said Amir Shahzad, a clerk at the Crown gas station where the shooting happened.

Shahzad said the victim, whom police have not publicly identified, was a regular customer. Though others witnessed the entire thing, police need help catching the killer.

Chief TJ Smith, a Baltimore Police spokesman, said the department was releasing the video in this incident and planned to do so in the future to help catch criminals.

"We're going to do everything we can to make you famous to the entire region so we can get you in custody," said Smith.
