Police responded to the 1800 block of N. Montford Avenue around 6:14 p.m. for reports of an assault.
When they arrived at the scene, police began to canvass the area for any victims and/or witnesses.
During their search, police found a 44-year-old unresponsive man in an alley.
The victim had visible signs of head trauma and was sent to an area hospital, where he later died.
