Man convicted in death of bystander

A Baltimore jury has convicted Anthony Cole of first degree murder and other charges for the shooting of his wife and the death of a bystander during the course of a domestic dispute.
Cole was convicted of first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, two counts of handgun use in a crime of violence and possession of a regulated firearm.
On April 14, 2012, Cole rode his bicycle to the 1900 block of Etting Street, stopped, got off and approached his estranged wife. He smacked her in the face and exchanged words with her.
A man seated next to her stood up and began walking away, not wanting to get involved. Cole turned to his wife and fired at least three shots at her. He missed, and his wife got away, running into a nearby house.
Cole then rode off on his bike.
Cole is scheduled for sentencing on March 4, 2013 and faces a maximum sentence of two life terms plus 55-years in prison.
