Man convicted for retaliation shooting

BALTIMORE - A Baltimore City Circuit court convicted a man of murder for a retaliation attack in 2010.

According to court records, on September 30, 2010 Darius Sheppard walked up to Arthur Peacock in the 800 block of West Lexington St. and shot him twice in the head. Peacock died at the scene.  Peacock allegedly shot Sheppard six months earlier.

Two prior trials for the fatal shooting ended in hung juries, but Monday's jury found Sheppard guilty of first degree murder and handgun violations.

Sheppard faces a maximum sentence of life plus 25 years when he's sentenced in February.
