BALTIMORE - A man arrested for strangling a woman to death walked into a Baltimore City police station early Sunday morning and confessed to the crime.
According to charging documents Michael Small, 43, of Baltimore appeared nervous as he walked into police headquarters just before 4 a.m. Sunday and asked to speak to a police officer. When the female officer declined to meet privately, Small wrote “I think I killed someone,” on a piece of paper.
Following up on Small’s information, police went to 1937 E. North Avenue where they found a semi-nude woman on the floor of a second floor bedroom. The woman, identified in police documents only as Jane Doe, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said she was strangled.
After waiving his Miranda rights, Small confessed to killing the woman.
The nature of their relationship is unclear.
