It was Labor Day weekend, 2016.
A dice game drew players to McAleer Court in Latrobe Homes, and an unknown subject who left the area and returned with a gun in full view of a surveillance camera.
He would open fire, missing his target, but striking a 61-year-old woman in a wheelchair, along with two of her grandchildren ages six and four.
"She was the grandmother to the children and they were just in the wrong place at the wrong time," said Det. Donny Moses of the Baltimore City Police Department, "He actually was not shooting at them from what we understand, they just got caught in the crossfire."
In a low-income housing complex where crime is no stranger, this triple shooting was different.
"It was real crazy. Everybody just came back and prayed during it you know?" said Byron Powell.
Even though plenty of people witnessed the crime, no one stepped forward to identify the suspect, but recently an anonymous tip changed everything.
"Out of the blue, we received information naming the suspect... naming Delanie McCloud,” said Moses, “With that information, we were able to renew our investigation and go after him and we were able to piece some things together, and ultimately, we obtained an arrest warrant."
This week, they caught up with 31-year-old Delanie McCloud in the Reisterstown area of Baltimore County.
No, McCloud's arrest, in and of itself, won't change much in Baltimore where gun violence is rampant, but it may restore some semblance of peace to a community where it was difficult to find any in the first place.
"That was real unnecessary for the little kid, because the little kid---she's probably traumatized now. She's scared to come outside," said Calvin Hinds, "She's just traumatized... the whole area. They can't even have their kids out here now since that and it's unnecessary. I'm glad they caught the person though who did it."
McCloud now faces a series of 15 charges including three counts of attempted first degree murder.
