Officials say it was an incident that began with a birthday cake and balloons delivery and ended with trips to the hospital and jail.
A female visitor and a staff member at the National Academy Foundation Preparatory School were both treated for injuries to their hands Monday. According to a report provided by officials, the visitor brought the delivery for a relative and when she entered the building without clearance, things got tense.
A school staff member intercepted the woman, and after a knife was reportedly pulled by the visitor, the altercation continued.
The staff member received medical treatment at a nearby hospital. The visitor was treated by ambulance attendants at the scene and then transported to Baltimore City's Central Booking Intake Facility for processing.
