Day three of the manhunt and there remains no sign of the man who shot and killed Baltimore police detective Sean Suiter.
"All I can say is we have significant leads and as soon as we are able to develop probably cause and identify this person and arrest him, that is the next step in the process and it is a process," Baltimore Police Commissioner Kevin Davis said Friday morning.
Davis added that police do have a direction in their search and that his agency and others are eager to announce the name of the man who killed the well loved detective and father of five.
"We're just looking forward to identifying the person responsible for this and everyone is working around the clock," said Davis.
Suiter's murder gained national headlines and continued to do so. Most recently, former Maryland U.S. Attorney and current Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein brought it up during an address given in Chicago. When talking about Baltimore Rosenstein said, "If crime is out of control, it is because people failed to control it. In Baltimore, local authorities lost confidence in their ability to manage public safety, the most important function of government."
City State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby responded to the pointed remarks on Friday.
"We can't finger-point and say that it is just prosecutors, we can't say that it is just the judges. It's a matter of reform. It is about the community, all of us. We have to take a communal approach," said Mosby.
