ABC2 News decided not to show the very end of the video, it is not the kind of thing that needs broadcasting, not when what leads up to it is violent enough to get the disturbing picture.

The student you see in the video doing this punching is Sean Johnson, a 17 year old.

The beating happened in the cafeteria at Frederick Douglass High School Wednesday at lunch.

The victim was beaten unconscious until he had convulsions.

Students who saw the fight spoke to ABC2 but did not want to be identified.

"I don't know why they were fighting,” the student said, “but it just went overboard...out of hand."

Out of hand because the victim, who Baltimore City Schools officials said came to in a pool of his own blood, was transported to Shock Trauma.

He is currently in stable condition with serious injuries to his face and head.

Meanwhile on the other side of the city, Johnson sits in a jail cell held without bail and charged as an adult for attempted murder.

"It's sad. It's really, really sad. The kids can't come to school to learn. I thought learning used to be fun. I know it was when I was in school. Even when I worked here as a cafeteria worker, it was crazy then, but not as crazy as it is now," said area resident Terry McCree

Parents who became aware of the video as it started to go viral today were shocked, upset by the beating and prepared to discuss what their child may have seen in the lunchroom yesterday afternoon.

"Stay out of it. Stay to yourself. You come to school to learn, not fight. If anybody says something to you, be the bigger person and walk away because you can always get hurt in situations like that," said Douglass parent Deneisha Gilmore.

Johnson was originally in the custody of the juvenile system but was eventually charged as an adult Thursday.

Baltimore City Schools says its investigation is still ongoing.
