Baltimore City police are investigating four shootings, including two that were fatal, that have occurred since late last night.
The first homicide took place at about 11 p.m. Thursday when officers responded to the 6400 block of Harford Road for multiple calls of shots fired. Officers found a man on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital, but was pronounced dead about 30 minutes later.
The second homicide occurred about 4 a.m. when officers responded to the 1600 block of Hartsdale Road, and found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to an area hospital, but was pronounced dead at 4:09 a.m., by hospital staff.
Among the other shootings, police responded at 3:48 a.m. to the 1200 block of W. Ostend St. following a report of a man being shot in the back. The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he is listed in stable condition. Police said its preliminary investigation revealed the victim was approached by an unknown man in a vehicle, who opened fire. The suspect then drove off to an undetermined location.
The final shooting occurred at about 1:34 a.m. when officers were dispatched to the 6500 block of Holabird Avenue. In that case, a woman was reportedly shot in the right thigh. Police said its preliminary investigation revealed the victim was sitting at a picnic table when an older model red pick-up truck with two white male occupants, stopped at the traffic light. The victim then heard two loud pops and realized she was shot. The suspected vehicle then quickly exited, heading eastbound on Dundalk Avenue. The victim was treated and released in good condition.
