Fire marshal investigating blaze at Amtrak property that caused $30,000 in damage

BALTIMORE - The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating a fire that caused $30,000 in damage to an Amtrak Rail property Sunday.

Officials said the incident happened at 5:09 p.m. at the property near 1811 Falls Road in Baltimore city. Two separate parts of the property caught on fire, including the interior of the storage structure and the debris pile beneath the bridge.

It took 15 firefighters from Baltimore city a half hour to get the blaze under control.
