Fatal stabbing marks Baltimore's 200th homicide

Baltimore’s death rate takes a historic turn as the area reaches its 200th homicide in 2016.

The 200th victim, Franswhaun Smith, 42, was stabbed Friday on Murphy Lane near West Franklin Street. He died at the scene.

There is no word on a suspect or possible motive.

Currently, homicides are down 11 percent compared to this time last year.

A total of 344 people were killed in 2015, making it the city's deadliest year on record.
