Friday afternoon, police were called to the 1000 block of E. North Ave for reports of a shooting.
When police arrived they found a 53-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the head.
The victim was transported to the closet hospital where she later died from her injuries.
Homicide detectives were called to the scene and are asking anyone with information to call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7Lockup
