It happened almost nine months ago, but for loved ones, the pain is still raw. Mark Nicholson, 51, was shot and killed outside his Liberty Heights Avenue home on April 17th.

"It took me weeks to really accept the fact that this happened to him, it's still just very, very surreal for us," Mark's sister said.

She says it's been tough for the entire family since the murder.

Neighbors say they were just as shocked to learn what happened.

"Very surprising, very eerie,” said neighbor William Smith.  “It has me watching over my shoulder every time I leave out my house."

Baltimore Police tell us Mark was shot multiple times, there were no witnesses, and investigators don't know what the motive was.

"Still wondering, you know, why did this happen, why was he targeted, it's just like all these unanswered questions," Mark’s sister said.

As the family struggles with not having closure, investigators are hoping a reward will bring justice to this tragic killing.

"It's completely unfair that this would happen, he didn’t deserve what happened to him,” said Mark’s sister.  “And we would just want people to understand and do what they can to take a person off the street who would do such a horrible thing to such a nice man."

The family tells us Mark was a hardworking man who had a full time job and his own business.  He has two children and two grandchildren and he loved to fish.
