City police investigating NW Baltimore homicides

BALTIMORE - Baltimore City police are investigating two homicides from overnight that occurred less than two hours and a few blocks apart from one another.

The first occurred around 9:30 p.m. on the 4900 block of Park Heights Ave. There, police said a man was shot at least one time in the chest. The victim was transported to an area hospital before being declared dead an hour later. He was identified as Austaniel Brown, 22, of the 4800 block of Beaufort Ave.

Then at 11:17 p.m., officers still on the scene of the first homicide heard gunfire nearby. Police said they found a man in the 3200 block of Spaulding Ave. who had been shot in the torso. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:51 p.m..
