Baltimore Police Department detectives said it is not often they have such clear to work with during an investigation.

They said the latest one they released shows a suspect in a rape investigation.

"We need to get him off the street. He committed a horrible and very violent act that was traumatic not only to the victim but to the community itself," Lt. Jarron Jackson said.

Police said it happened around 6 a.m. on Tuesday February 9, 2016. A 33 year old woman told officers she was assaulted in the 1400 block of Warner Street.

"She was alone when she was approached by this individual who implied that he had a weapon. We know at that point the sexual assault occurred," Lt. Jackson told ABC2.

The woman escaped with non life threatening injuries

The location is just a few short steps from the Horseshoe Casino and two blocks from M&T Bank stadium. BARCS is right around the corner.

"In this day in age no it's really not shocking," Claire Jensen said.

Jensen and Jory Bender work at BARCS. The two often walk down Warner for a lunch break, but never alone. They had not heard about the assault.

"I don't come to work that early but we certainly do have people, animal control officers, that do. So it's a little scary," Bender said.

Police hope by sharing the video and pictures on social media, their suspect will be off the street soon.

"If you know him, if you've seen him before, you will recognize him in this video. That's what we need viewers to do is come forward with any information they have about this suspect's identity, his whereabouts, where he may be hanging out, who may be helping him," Lt. Jackson said.
