BPD officer injured during drug bust

BALTIMORE - A Baltimore City Police officer was injured during an attempted drug bust Wednesday evening.

Officers were near the Exxon gas station in the 600 block of West Mulberry Street in Baltimore attempting to stop a suspected drug deal, according to police.

When an officer approached one of the suspect's vehicles, the car took off dragging the officer in tow.

Another officer shot at the vehicle as it sped away, dropping the first responding officer.  The officer that fell from the car suffered minor injuries, a police spokesman said.

Police said that officers apprehended an unknown number of suspects.

Central District investigators are searching for other persons of interest tied to this incident.
