Baltimore searching for answers after a total of five people are killed Saturday

The first incident occurred around 1:40 p.m. Saturday in the 2800 block of Prospect Street.

Officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest when they arrived to the scene.

The victim was transported to a hospital where he later died.

Just under an hour later, an officer on patrol in North Baltimore found a 28-year-old shooting victim in the 300 block of Whitridge Avenue.

The victim, Channon Simpkins, was transported to a hospital where he died from his injuries.

At 3:55 p.m. officers were called to the 1300 block of Stricker Street for another shooting.

Officers found the victim shot in the chest, transported him to a hospital, but to no avail he died from his injuries.

Police say they believe the victim was in a house when an unknown suspect entered and shot him before fleeing the scene.

Twenty minutes later, officers were called to an area hospital in northeast Baltimore where a woman was being treated for gunshot wounds.

Officers say the woman was found in Baltimore County by police and transported to the hospital.

Investigators located a crime scene in the 4800 block of Hazelwood Avenue.

Police say they believe this incident was domestic and a person of interest has been taken into custody.

The victim, 24-year-old Raynesha Hunt, later died from her injuries.

Around 10:30 p.m. Police were called to the intersection of Quantico Avenue and Pall Mall Road for a shooting. When they arrived they found 39-year-old Tarrol Carroll suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body.

Carroll was transported to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.
