Baltimore police investigating three homicides over the last 24 hours

BALTIMORE - Baltimore police are investigating two homicides that occurred early morning Wednesday.

Just before 4 a.m., police responded to an area hospital after a man was shot in his chest in the 2200 block of Cedley Street. The man was pronounced dead about 10 minutes after he walked into the hospital.

About two hours later, officers conducting an investigation in the 3400 block of Piedmont Avenue discovered the body of a deceased adult who appeared to have severe trauma to the body.

Police said Wednesday the victim was a transgender woman, who identified herself as Mia Henderson. The 26-year-old victim’s government issued name is Kevin Long, police said. The victim’s last known address was in the 3000 block of Littleton Road.

Homicide detectives are investigating both incidents. Anyone with information is asked to call 410-396-2100.

There have been three homicides in the last 24 hours in the city.

A 32-year-old man was shot multiple times in the area of Bentalou Street and Windsor Avenue in west Baltimore late Tuesday afternoon. He later died from his injuries.
