66-year-old man shot while sitting on park bench in Baltimore

A 66-year-old man was shot early Monday morning while sitting on a park bench in the 100 block of East 26th Street, Baltimore Police said. 

The shooting happened around 1:18 a.m., when officers found the man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg and a graze wound to the arm.

The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.

Police said an unidentified man walked past the victim, and about two to three minutes later, the victim heard three gunshots and realized he was shot.  

The victim then made his way to St. Paul Street at East 26th Street, where he was able to call for help. 

Detectives are investigating this shooting, and are asking anyone with information to call 410-396-2221 or call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
