A 27-year-old woman died in a crash overnight in northeast Baltimore and police are searching for the car's driver.

Around 2:00 a.m. Baltimore police were called to the 2300 block of Belair Road, where a driver lost control of the car and rear-ended a parked flatbed tow truck.

The passenger, Laquisha Anderson, was ejected from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the driver got out of the car and ran away.

Friends and loved ones gathered Sunday evening at the crash scene to honor Anderson's life.

"She's always been my hero, my model, because she always stood by my side," says brother Gerrell Wilson.

Anderson's grandmother, Evelyn Koger, believes that the driver will eventually come forward out of guilt.

"Some people are runners," she said. "So I think he's a runner. When the impact hit, he just ran. When he came back, there were people there and he didn't know what to do and he just left."

Investigators are working to identify the driver of the car. It's still unclear why he lost control and crashed.
