Baltimore Police have named Cortez Wall, 18, as Public Enemy No. 1.
Wall is wanted for a homicide that happened in the middle of the day on Saturday, May 6, 2017. When detectives got to Whitridge Avenue near Barclay Street, they found bullet shells from a 380 handgun, and 28-year-old Channon Simpkins lying dead on the road next to his car
"We were able to use investigative methods, as well as get community input, and community as witnesses to identify Cortez Wall in the suspect in this case," said Baltimore City Police Chief T.J. Smith.
Investigators say the shooting was retaliation over some sort of drug dispute, and Wall targeted Simpkins.
Officers have been hunting for the violent teen ever since, saying Wall is a threat to public safety.
“Don’t let his age fool you, he’s somebody we believe is a very violent individual,” Smith said. “He is a veteran in the criminal justice system already, and he is possibly a veteran killer, and we need him off the streets and we need the public's help."
Police say Wall could be the triggerman in numerous shootings, and possibly responsible for multiple brutal acts across charm city. A warrant for Wall’s arrest has been issued, charging him with 1st degree murder.
