BALTIMORE - A 12-year-old girl was robbed in Baltimore on her walk to school, Patterson Park Public Charter School principal Charles Kramer said.
The school sent a letter home with parents indicating that the girl was robbed at gunpoint on Jan. 28.
At about 7:30 a.m., a man approached the girl, showed a gun and took her cell phone.
"He may have had it planned out that he was going to grab whoever walked past. … The guy's gotta be sick," Mary O'Halloran, a neighborhood parent, said.
The school sent the letter out a few days after the robbery.
"As quickly as we could we sent a letter out," Kramer said. "And we wanted to make sure that we ourselves were available so that if a student had any issue or a parent had any questions we wanted to be there to help."
Police warn there have been other attacks by men covering their faces in the area.
Kramer said the young girl is back to school.
