Protesters chained themselves to railings and escalators in the Hyatt Regency Hotel during the State Fraternal Order of Police conference Sunday, according to City police.

Around 1:45 p.m., officers responded to 301 Light Street for a report of several individuals in the lobby refusing to leave and chaining themselves to a railing.

Officers and officials from the fire department were able to cut the chains and take the protestors into custody.

12 people were arrested for civil disobedience. Police say there were no other issues or violence associated with the incident.
