Woman's car stolen after home invasion

HANOVER, Md. - A 65-year-old woman is without a car after a man broke into her home, assaulted her and took her car keys.

Anne Arundel County Police say the incident happened around 7 a.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Chesapeake Mobile Court in Hanover.

Police say the victim was sleeping on her couch when a man entered her home, held her down and demanded money. The man never showed a weapon, but implied he had one.

After taking the woman's car keys and some money, he hit her with something and drove off in the car.

The stolen car is a 2002 Hyundai Accent, license plate number DPB945. Police are investigating and say they don't know if this was a random or targeted incident.
