Woman, dog attacked by pit bulls in Glen Burnie

GLEN BURNIE, Md. - A 66-year-old woman and her dog were attacked by a pair of stray pit bulls Sunday night in Glen Burnie.

Anne Arundel County police said the attack occurred at about 9:05 p.m. in the area of the 400 block of Lincoln Ave. S.W. The victim told police she was outside walking her dog when two stray pit bulls approached and attacked her dog.

Police said the victim sustained a serious bite injury while trying to break the dogs apart. The victim was able to make it to a nearby residence and received assistance from a resident. Both of the attacking dogs ran off and were seen entering a vehicle at the end of the street after being called over by an unknown person, police said.

Police said the vehicle drove off and there was no known description of the dog owner or the vehicle. The victim was transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center for treatment.
