An Annapolis woman has been charged with removing a Black Lives Matter sign from an area church.

Anne Arundel County Police said Chari Raye McLean, 56, was charged with destruction of property on a criminal citation for taking down the sign that was in front of St. Philips Episcopal Church in the 700 block of Bestgate Road in Annapolis without permission.

McLean told police she took the sign down because she did not believe in the Black Lives Matter motto, and instead supported Blue Lives Matter and All Lives Matter mottos instead.

This is the second such incident to happen this month at an Annapolis church.
