An Annapolis woman was hit in the face and strangled by a man who climbed into her house through the second-story window. He told police he was upset because of a "load of dirty laundry."

The woman told police she knows the man who did it. She discovered Rondell Johnson in her children's bedroom around 8:30 a.m. May 1 and the two began arguing. It escalated from there and Johnson hit her in the face and strangled her.

Police said as that was going on, her 4-year-old son was trying to pull Johnson off his mother, while the 2-year-old was crying.

The woman was able to break free of him and ran outside and asked a stranger to call police, which they did, but Johnson ran out after her. He brought her back into the home, strangled her again, and didn't let go until police arrived.

He was arrested and held without bail.
