Warrant issued for Pasadena woman who assaulted crossing guard

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md - Anne Arundel County Police have issued a warrant for a Pasadena woman who assaulted an Anne Arundel County Police crossing guard.

Brittany Anne Wenzel, 18, of 220 Inlet Drive, is wanted  attempted robbery and assault charges.

Police learned of the assault on May 28, when the arrived at Northeast High School, located at 1121 Duvall Highway just before 2:00 p.m.

The victim stated the incident occurred over a two day period.  On May 27, while working in front of the crosswalk at the school, the guard noticed a blue Chevrolet Sonic automobile, being operated by a white female driver.

The Chevrolet was attempting to exit the Northeast High School parking lot by turning right and continuing on Duvall Highway.

As the guard continued to direct motorists to remain stopped, the driver of the Chevrolet ignored the directions.

The driver drove through the marked crosswalk containing pedestrians and continued right on to Duvall Highway.

The next day, the guard spotted the same car in the parking lot and decided to take photos of the car to turn into police.

Wenzel, who was identified as the driver, got out of the car and told the guard to stop taking photos. She then grabbed the guards hands and then slapped her before getting in her car and driving away.

Continued investigation indicates Wenzel came to the school to pick up her boyfriend.
