Two robbed after answering Facebook ad

SEVERN, Md. - Anne Arundel County police are urging the public to use caution after two people were robbed after answering an ad on a social media site in Severn.

Police said the latest incident occurred around 11:20 p.m. when officers responded to the area of Still Meadows Drive near Stewarton Court in Severn for a report of a robber.

The victims told police they answered an ad on Facebook to purchase a cell phone. The victims, who are from Virginia, said they went to the area of Still Meadows Dr. and Hawk Court in Severn.

Police said the victims were met by four male suspects who then pushed one of the victims and took their money and a cell phone. The victims said attempted to retrieve their property, before one of the suspects implied he had a gun. The victims then stopped and the suspects fled.

According to police, all four suspects ran off and the victims reported that they saw the suspects enter a red Dodge Charger and flee the area.
