LINTHICUM, Md. - Thirteen men have been charged with prostitution following a police sting in the Linthicum area.
Last month, detectives from the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s special enforcement section launched an initiative aimed at stopping prostitution in this area. Undercover detectives posed as escorts on websites commonly used for the purposes of prostitution.
Detectives obtained solicitations of a sexual act for money from men who met with the undercover detectives after responding to the advertisements.
The men charged include Gregory Walker, 19, of Reading, Pa., James Sawyer Jr., 42, of Glen Burnie, Lafawn Stevens Jr., 27, of Halethorpe, Wendell Patrick, 55, of Annapolis, Michael Silva, 46, of Matthews, North Carolina, Kyle Jirsa, 23, of Bel Air, Michael Laukhart, 56, of Severna Park, Jeffrey Brescia, 50, of Fulton, Joseph Laforce Jr., 30, of Catonsville, Moctarwaled Mkhaitratt, 25, of Alexandria, Va., Jonathan Hayes, 43, of Richardson, Texas, Christopher Drzal, 33, of Elkridge and Christopher Campos, 30, of Rome, N.Y.
Laukhart, Brescia and Campos were also each charged with second-degree assault and a fourth-degree sex offense.
