A 17-year-old remains in critical condition after she was hit by a car early Sunday morning walking home from a party in Severn.

Anne Arundel County Police say officers were called to the area in the 7900 block of WB&A Road near Thompson Rd.

Witnesses say Kiersten Emily Wengert-Walko left a house party in the 7800 block and was walking south in the northbound lane with a group of people. While they were walking, a car was driving north extremely fast and hit the teen who was unable to get out of the way.

Police believe those in the car were leaving the same party. Wengert-Walko was rushed to Shock Trauma and remains in critical condition as of Monday morning.

Police are still looking for the driver who fled the scene. Investigation shows the suspect was driving a silver car with broken headlight assembly and windshield damage; it should also have tinted windows.

Anyone who may have any information about the incident or a possible vehicle is asked to call 410-222-8573 or 8082.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family pay for medical expenses.
