CROFTON, Md. - A teenager out on a joyride on a stolen motorcycle is dead after a crash in Anne Arundel County.
Police said the 17-year-old was riding a 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle on west on Rt. 198 from Brock Bridge Road around 10:40 p.m Saturday. As he and a companion on another motorcycle approached Race Track Road, an Isuzu Rodeo was making a left onto Race Track Road.
The 17-year-old driver hit the Isuzu and was thrown from the bike. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The other motorcycle fled the scene without stopping.
The driver of the Isuzu was flown to Shock Trauma where he is listed in serious but stable condition.
Police said the motorcycle involved in the crash was reported stolen though Howard County Police.
Excessive speed was a factor in the crash.
Police are investigating.
